Privacy Policy

Last updated July 6, 2026

This is the part most free tools cannot say honestly. Deposit Record runs entirely in your web browser. The information you type into the tool is processed on your own device and is never sent to us or stored anywhere. This policy explains exactly what that means, and the limited analytics and server data that come with simply visiting the site.

The short version. No account. No login. No database of your information. The deposit amounts, names, addresses, and dates you enter never leave your browser. We do not set advertising or tracking cookies and do not track you across the web. The only data tied to your visit is aggregate, cookieless analytics, our own anonymous usage counters (fixed labels like "a letter was generated," never anything you type), and standard server logs handled by our hosting provider, Cloudflare.

Information you enter into the tool

The deadline math and the letter you generate run entirely in your browser. The names, addresses, deposit amounts, deductions, and dates you type are never transmitted to us and never stored anywhere by us. There is no account, no login, and no database of your information, because that information never leaves your device. When you close the tab, it is gone. The letter is created and printed on your device using your browser's own print feature.

Information collected automatically

The only information associated with your visit is collected by our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare:

Cookieless web analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first analytics product, to understand aggregate usage of the site, such as how many people view a page. It does not use cookies, localStorage, or any other storage in your browser, and it does not fingerprint you or track you across other websites. A lightweight script measures page views and performance using your browser's Performance API, including the page address, the referring page, general device and browser type, and country. Your IP address is seen only as part of normal web requests and is discarded at the nearest Cloudflare data center rather than stored in the analytics data.

Anonymous usage counters. To understand which parts of the tool people actually use, we also count a small number of product events ourselves, first-party, such as "a deadline was computed," "a letter was generated," or "a California city was selected." Each count is a single fixed label from our own predefined list, sent to our own server and stored as a tally. These counters cannot contain anything you type: there is no field for your figures, dates, names, addresses, or letter text, and our server discards anything that is not on the fixed list. They use no cookies and no identifiers of any kind; a returning visitor looks the same to us as a new one, and no count can be traced back to a person. If your browser sends the Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we honor it and count nothing at all. If you arrive through a testing link we share with invited participants, a small non-identifying label is kept in your browser for up to 45 days so those test visits can be counted separately from regular ones; it labels the visit type, never you.

Server and security logs. This site is hosted on and delivered through Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages and Cloudflare's global network), which acts as our infrastructure and security provider. To serve and protect the site, Cloudflare processes standard request and connection data on our behalf, which it describes as extremely limited personal data, most often IP addresses, along with related network and security logs. This is used to operate, secure, and understand traffic to the site.

Cookies and tracking

We do not set advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not use localStorage or similar storage to profile you. Our analytics are cookieless. We do not run third-party advertising networks, and we do not allow third parties to track your activity across other websites through our site, beyond Cloudflare's operation of our hosting and security infrastructure described above.

How we use information

  • To operate, deliver, and secure the site.
  • To understand aggregate usage so we can improve the content and the tool.
  • To detect, prevent, and address spam, abuse, security threats, and technical problems.
  • To respond to you if you email us.
  • To comply with applicable law.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not sell, rent, or trade it, and we never have. We share information only in these limited ways:

  • Service providers. Cloudflare, Inc. provides our hosting, content delivery, and security, and processes the request and analytics data described above as our service provider under its standard Data Processing Addendum. Cloudflare's privacy practices are at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
  • Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law or in response to a valid request from a court, regulator, or public authority.

If you email us

If you write to us at security@orygn.tech, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it only to respond to you and to keep a record of the correspondence. We do not need or want sensitive personal details to answer a question about the tool.

Your California privacy rights

Because Deposit Record runs in your browser and we keep no account or profile, there is generally no personal information about you for us to access, change, or delete. We provide these disclosures for California residents anyway.

Categories of information and third parties. The only potentially identifying information collected is your IP address and related request data, collected automatically by Cloudflare, Inc., which acts as our hosting, content-delivery, and security provider. We do not share it with any other third party for that party's own use.

Do Not Track. Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no industry-standard response to it. Because we do not track you across other websites or over time and do not build advertising profiles, there is no cross-site tracking by us to turn off. We do not knowingly permit third parties to collect identifying information about your activity across different websites when you use our site, beyond Cloudflare's hosting and security role described above.

California rights as a courtesy. To the extent any California resident wishes to exercise rights that may be available under California law, including the right to know or access, delete, or correct personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them, you may contact us at security@orygn.tech. These rights derive from the California Consumer Privacy Act, which by its terms applies only to businesses that meet certain size thresholds. We offer this contact point regardless of whether those thresholds apply to us.

Your Texas privacy rights

Deposit Record is operated by Orygn LLC, a Texas limited liability company. We believe we are exempt from the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (Tex. Bus. & Com. Code ch. 541) as a small business under the U.S. Small Business Administration's size standards, and we do not sell personal or sensitive data. We also built the tool so that the information you type stays in your browser and is never transmitted to or stored by us. Even though we believe the Act does not require it, if you are a Texas resident we will honor the following rights regarding any personal data we may hold about you:

  • to confirm whether we process your personal data and to access it;
  • to correct inaccuracies in it;
  • to delete it;
  • to obtain a portable copy of data you previously provided;
  • to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or profiling with legal effects. We do not do any of these things.

To exercise these rights, email security@orygn.tech with the subject line "Texas Privacy Request." We will respond within 45 days, with one extension where reasonably necessary. If we decline, we will explain why and how to appeal; to appeal, reply to our decision or write to us with the subject line "Texas Privacy Appeal." If an appeal is denied, you may contact the Texas Attorney General at texasattorneygeneral.gov.

Children's privacy

Deposit Record is intended for landlords and other adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data retention

We do not store the information you enter into the tool, so there is nothing for us to retain. Cloudflare keeps analytics and security log data for a limited period as part of operating and protecting the site. If you email us, we keep that correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to answer you and to maintain a record, then delete it.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the site, and keeping your information on your own device rather than on our servers is itself a privacy protection. That said, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is ever completely secure.

Visitors in the EEA and UK

This site is operated from the United States and is intended for landlords in Texas, California, and Florida. We do not target our services to, or monitor the behavior of, individuals in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, and we do not believe the EU General Data Protection Regulation or UK GDPR applies to us. If you access the site from those regions, you do so on your own initiative, and any limited data processing happens as described above through our privacy-first analytics and our hosting provider, Cloudflare.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the "last updated" date above, which also serves as the effective date. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
